Launch of ‘Know How to Ride a Bike’ Operation in Montluçon: Ensuring Safety and Independence for Children

The town and the Hubertine-Auclert school hosted the launch of the “Know how to ride a bike” operation. It consists in setting up, on all the thirty-one schools of the agglomeration, a program which takes place in three stages: “Knowing how to pedal, knowing how to circulate and knowing how to ride a bike”.

Thus, thanks to the collaboration of Montluçon Triathlon and Horizon Montluçon VTT, children from 6 to 9 years old will be able to acquire good safety reflexes and become more independent on a bike.

In the presence of Frédéric Laporte, president of Montluçon Communauté, Francis Nouhant, vice-president in charge of mobility, Thierry Penthier, vice-president in charge of sports, and Soraya Rochdi, inspector of National Education, the participants received a kit including a pump, enough to repair a puncture and means of visualization.

It was also recalled “that the municipality of Lignerolles, aware of the need to facilitate the use of bicycles, has equipped all its municipal buildings with bicycle garages”. It also offers the rental of bicycles made available by Maëlys.
