Launch of E-Barč: Baltic Touring Car Championship Season 5 Begins with Exciting Prizes for Fastest Drivers

With the competition on the virtual Biķernieku track on February 8, the new digital motorsport season will be launched, in which the organizers have provided interesting prizes for the fastest drivers, including the fastest representative from Latvia.

The Baltic Touring Car Championship or “E-Barč” digital race will take place from February 8 on the “World Sim Series” platform in the digital motorsport simulator “Assetto Corsa” and will go through the virtual versions of the Baltic highway tracks in Riga, Kaunas, Pärnu every 2 weeks for four races. , as well as the Polish “Tor Poznan” track, using the extremely popular “BMW 325 CUP” car in the championship.

“Nowadays, with the development of technology, virtual motorsport has become an integral part of real motorsport races, both as an easily accessible training option for pilots before the competition, and more and more participants are coming directly from digital motorsport, as we can also see in the Baltic Motorway Championship. This will be the fifth season of our digital motorsport, where participants will have the opportunity to compete on virtual tracks among the best pilots of the Baltic region for unique and valuable prizes,” says Andis Meilands, organizer of the Baltic Motorway Championship.

The championship provides prizes in several categories. Thanks to the support of SIA “Latvijas Mobilais Telefons” and the association “Latvijas Automobiļu federācija”, the fastest pilot from Latvia will be provided with the opportunity to represent Latvia with an already paid participation fee in the Olympic motor sports games or “FIA Motorsport Games”, which will take place in Valencia, Spain at the end of October.

But the digital motorsport drivers who took the first three places in the overall championship standings will have a unique opportunity to conduct test sessions (each 30-40 km long) with the “BMW 325 CUP” racing vehicle on one of the Baltic highway tracks in the summer together with the “KTK Racing Division” team. This opportunity is intended for participants who have never had a license issued by the motorsport federation to participate in road races.
