Blood donation is a simple, generous gesture that helps treat more than 1 million patients each year. 1,000 donations are needed every day in the Occitanie region. The Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of Launaguet (ADSB) is launching an appeal for the collection on September 5 and 6 in the village hall.
For two days, volunteers from the ADSB association in Launaguet will welcome donors for the first collection of the season. Usually, the need for blood is significant and regular to treat the sick. This year, it is essential. Indeed, each year, 1 million sick people are treated thanks to blood donations. Unfortunately, there is no product that can replace blood products. Any adult, aged 18 to 70 and in good health, can come and donate blood at the annual rate of four times for women and six times for men (with 2 months between each donation).

This frequency is respected by the Launaguet volunteer team. To donate blood, you must go to the entrance of the village hall, not be fasting and have drunk a lot before. A secretary will welcome the public. The future donor will undergo a pre-donation interview to determine their suitability for donation. The collection lasts 7 to 10 minutes and allows for the collection of between 400 and 500 ml of blood. After the donation, the donor will remain under the supervision of the medical team. The conditions for becoming a donor are: be of legal age, have a photo ID (for a first donation), be recognized as fit to donate, weigh at least 50 kg, and have a sufficient hemoglobin level. It is preferable to make an appointment. Residents of the town and neighboring towns are expected to be numerous.
