The opponent of the Latvian national team played against South Korea in a friendly match in Copenhagen on Friday in the qualifying tournament of the Beijing Olympic Games in Riga.

In the battle of the two teams starting in the qualifying tournaments, France beat South Korea 4: 2 (0: 1, 2: 1, 2: 0).

The South Koreans took the lead with 2-0 after Jinhui An’s throw in the ninth and Sangvo Shin’s goal in the 26th minute.

France equalized after Alexander Texier’s “goal” in the 34th minute and Tim Bozon’s throw in the 38th minute.

On Saturday, France will meet with another participant in the Olympic qualifying tournament, Denmark, which, like South Korea, will start in Oslo.

Group E games of the qualification tournament will take place from August 26 to 29 in “Arena Riga”. The national teams of Latvia, France, Italy and Hungary will compete for the only ticket to Beijing.

The Latvian team will end the tournament on August 29 with a duel against France.

In parallel with the Olympic qualifying tournament in Riga, eight more national teams will distribute two tickets to the Beijing Olympics. In Group D, Slovaks, Belarusians, Austrians and Poles will meet in Bratislava. In addition to Norwegians, Danes, South Koreans and Slovenes will also take part in Oslo. Only group winners will win the start of the Olympic Games.-
