In the third quarter of this year, the average level of job vacancies in Latvia was higher than in the European Union (EU), expressed as a percentage between the total number of available vacancies and all jobs in the economy – already occupied and vacant.
This is evidenced by the comparative data released on Monday, December 18, by the EU statistical office “Eurostat”.
In Latvia, the vacancy rate in the third quarter was 2.8%. The highest vacancy rates in July-September were in Belgium (4.7%), the Netherlands (4.5%), Austria (4.2%), Germany (4.1%) and the Czech Republic (3.5%).
The average vacancy rate in the EU was 2.6% in the third quarter, and 2.9% in the eurozone.
In both Lithuania and Estonia, the vacancy rate was 2%, but the lowest vacancy rate was in Romania and Bulgaria – 0.8% in both countries.
