The winners were determined in the vote by the coaches of the Latvian national and tournament teams, who also nominated one of the best players of their team in the past season.
Other domestic women’s football greats of the past year – the best women’s football coach/educator, the best youth footballer, the best referee, the best assistant referee, the best coach of the women’s football competition and the footballer of the year – will be named at the LFF award night on 15 December.
Elza Renāte Strazdiņa, the representative of “Liepāja Futbola skolas”, was named the best goalkeeper of the Women’s Football League, while the best striker award went to another Liepaja resident, Annie Gabriela Anderson.
Anderson also became the best player of “Liepājas Futbolas skolas”, while the award for the most valuable footballer of “Liepājas Futbolas skolas-2” went to Ieva Bergholts.
