In 2016, Shcherbatykh divorced his daughter’s mother, Maria Afanasyeva, with whom he once planned a luxurious wedding, but the couple did not make it. What’s more, the divorce did not go smoothly, because the court proceedings lasted for a year and a half, in which Maria sued Viktor for the maintenance of her daughter Tatiana. In the end, both reached an amicable settlement.
Since then, Shcherbatykh was spotted going out in public with a fair sex only once. It was at the end of 2016, when the Olympian came to the “Latvian Sports Award of the Year” ceremony with a gorgeous companion. But now Shcherbatykh is again attending events with a beautiful lady by his side.

“Yes, we attend events together. We haven’t seen each other for a long time, just three months,” Shcherbatich’s companion Elina tells “Kas Jauns” magazine. They met in a gym in Riga, and Viktors was the first to pay attention to the beautiful lady. “No, no, I have nothing to do with weightlifting, we just did sports in the same gym,” explains Elina, saying that Viktor is a gallant cavalier and gentleman: “I really liked him!”
