Latvian volleyball players beat Croatia 3-0 (25:20, 25:23, 26:24).
Kristiāns Fokerots scored 18 points for the winners, Armands Rokjāns and Kristers Landzāns collected 13 points each, and Nikita Dimitrijevs scored nine points.
For the guests, 12 points were scored by Teo Mičetić, 10 by Ivan Vuk and nine by Sven Jakopec, who had five blocks.
In the second match of the day, Germany defeated Slovakia 3-0 (25:22, 25:14, 26:24).
After two rounds, Latvia has six points, Germany has five, Croatia has one, but Slovakia has not scored any points.
On Friday, the Latvians beat their peers from Slovakia 3-1 (23:25, 25:18, 25:23, 25:23).
Latvia will meet Germany on Sunday. The winners of five groups, as well as the three best runners-up, will qualify for the European Championship.
Before qualifying for the European Championship last weekend, the Latvians played two test matches in Jēkabpils, where they lost 0-3 and 2-3 to their peers from Ukraine.
The head coach Mārcs Obrumans is assisted by Đirts Mārtiņšons and statistician Aivis Kokin in the national team.
The second round qualification competition in Daugavpils takes place from April 5 to 7, and the final tournament in Greece and Serbia – from August 26 to September 7.
