The Latvian U-18 national hockey team led by Oleg Sorokin will participate in the U-20 Four Nations tournament in the Danish city of Vojens from November 9 to 11.
In addition to the Latvian U-18 national team and the host Danish U-20 national team, the Norwegian U-20 and Austrian U-20 teams will also compete in this tournament.
The Latvian U-18 hockey team will start the tournament in Denmark on November 9, when they will meet the hosts at 17:00 (Latvian time). A day later, Sorokin’s subordinates will compete (match starts at 17:00 Latvian time) with the Norwegians, but the tournament will end on November 11 at 17:00 against Austria.
Before leaving for Denmark, our hockey players held joint training sessions at HS “Rīga” ice hall on November 6 and 7.
Latvia’s U-18 national team includes two goalkeepers, nine defenders and 13 forwards.
Herbert Vasiļjevs, Maksims Širokovs and goalkeeper coach Edgars Lūsiņš will assist Sorokin in his work with the Latvian U-18 hockey team this season. On the other hand, Raivis Miezāns will take care of the physical training, while Artūrs Barovskis will perform the duties of the video coach.
Next year’s U-18 World Championship elite division tournament will be held in Finland. The national team led by Sorokin will play in one subgroup with the USA, Slovakia, Finland and Norway.
