Latvian Swimmers’ Success at Nordic Youth Championship

At the Nordic Youth Championship, Latvia was represented by seven young swimmers, two of whom managed to get on the podium. Kristaps Chilipāns finished in 1:07.15 in the 100m breaststroke, thereby securing a place on the third step of the podium with a new personal record. On the other hand, Yegor Korobkov got bronze in 50m freestyle – 24.35 seconds. It was also a new personal record for Yegor. In the 200m breaststroke, Čiliplán took 8th place (2:30.48), and Korobkov in the 100m breaststroke. 13th place (55.12).

Meanwhile, Emīls Pastar took 6th place in 100m backstroke (1:00.62), 9th place in 200m backstroke (2:16.21), as well as 14th place in 50m freestyle (26.03), Andrej Gordejevs 7th place in 200m medley (2:17.71 ), 10th place in 100m butterfly (1:00.91), 11th place in 100m freestyle (54.99) and 12th place in twice the longer distance (2:01.60). Emils Krampe took 10th place in the 200m butterfly (2:21.40), 50m b.p.h. was thirteenth (25.74), but 100m b.p.h. – 21st place (55.88).

Finally, Áron Roderts 11th and 13th place respectively in 100m and 200m backstroke, and the only girl in the Latvian team Emīlija Krauklei 16th and 17th place in 400m and 200m freestyle. In relay swimming, our boys took 6th place in the 4x100m complex, and 7th place in both the 4×100 and 4x200m freestyle relays.
