The singer emphasizes that bridges have been burned with colleagues who still support Russia. “Even in my orchestra, there was a musician who, from the time Crimea was annexed, thought differently than the rest of the orchestra,” says Vaikule, noting that she excluded this musician from her orchestra after the start of the war.
“I understood that he can’t be with me. He thinks differently. Music is such a thing after all – you have to love the person who stands next to you on the stage,” the singer believes. “I had to give up the person with whom I worked for about ten years. By the way, he himself is from Ukraine.”
Asked whether she is completely away from Russia in terms of property, Vaikule reveals that she never had any property there, but giving up the business resulted in the loss of several millions.
“When the war started, I simply gave up the business I had in Russia – related to cosmetics. They owed me two million dollars. I just gave them up,” says the singer.
“Perhaps so that there is no trouble for my cooperation partners that they are related to me. I talk too much,” explains Vaikule. “I decided that not everyone in the world can be bought. Money is not the main thing. It is an important thing – especially in old age.”
