Latvian singer Múr, who studies in London, releases a melancholy single

The promising and interesting Latvian musician Múr (real name Madara Murņikova) has released an emotional video for her melancholy single “Summer is over and so are we”, which in a rough translation could mean “summer is over and so are we. “.

Múr’s new single was recorded in Liverpool, but his video was shot in London: the musician has been studying in the UK for several years. This is the first musical release that the author has produced, mixed and mastered on his own. “I want anyone who spends a moment with this song to feel something, feel it and then let it go. My version of the song’s content is just one of many, “Madara says cryptically.

Múr currently lives in London, where he is pursuing a master’s in music production, after studying for four years at the Paul McCartney Institute of Music in Liverpool. While still in Latvia, Madara released the very interesting album “Under Allure”, which was nominated for the “Zelta Mikrofons” award of the Latvian music record of the year, as well as the mini-album “Nekas vagir nav skait”, from which many will probably remember the single “Kiršu koki”.

Múr’s new single is also kept in its own unique style of indie music, only the sound has become more mature, refined and western than in the days of “Under Allure” – the studios have done their homework. Bassist Daniel Guillermo Sauceda, whom Múr met while studying in Liverpool, also took part in the recording of the song. In the video, Múr recalls a time when a relationship ended with the summer and shows where he helped or hindered her. This audiovisual work captures all the nostalgia and melancholy of Múr, which is now connected with a new challenge. “The video clip of the song is particular: it seems very simple, but at the same time manages to attract the attention of the public for unknown reasons.

The musician promises a song in Latvian in the near future. “I feel comfortable writing in both English and Latvian, and these are different experiences and emotions. I want to continue to expand my horizons in this way and try my voice in Spanish and other languages as well,” Madara reflects.
