Don, who usually sings in Latvian, released the single “Hollow” at the end of the year. The Latvian version of the song “Kingdom of Broken Spears” was released last fall.
The authors of the song “Hollow” are Artūrs Shingirej, Liam Geddes and Kate Northrop, its video version was created by the “film naked” team, the clip was directed by Tom Harjo.
“The song ‘Hollow’ was written in a small village in Spain where I met co-writers Liam Geddes and Keith Northrop at a songwriting camp. It was the last day of the camp and our first chance to work together. By the time we finished ‘Hollow’ we all felt inside, that we have created something that makes time stand still,” recalls Don. “I continued to work with Lyem throughout the last year, together we have created more than 25 songs, and it was the creation of “Hollow” that made us realize that we understand each other musically. Part of these songs will also be heard in the album planned for this year.”
Laiems Geddes also has a good word for his Latvian colleague: “Collaborating with such a talented musician like Don was a really great experience. While working on “Hollow” we all felt like we were creating something special together, but when Don sang the vocals on the song, we realized that this work had exceeded our expectations. The song was created while thinking about today’s very relevant issue – the ability to think, speak and express yourself freely, without following the crowd, but living according to yourself.”
This year will mark several important events in Don’s musical career – he continues to work on the upcoming album, and has also announced a stadium concert, which will take place on August 17.
