Latvian Radio big bands and the group “The Sound Poets” record a joint album
Riga, Sept. 18, LETA. Latvian Radio big band and the group “The Sound Poets” are recording a joint album “Latvian Jazz Suite IV”, Ance Jirgena, a representative of Radio big band, informed LETA.
According to Jirgen, the album is the next record in the series of the Latvian radio big band “Latvian Jazz Suite”. The album includes new works by big band musicians – drummer Artis Oruba and saxophonists Dāvis Jurkas and Kristaps Lubovs, as well as specially arranged arrangements for the compositions of “The Sound Poets”.
The album is scheduled for release in February 2021 and will be followed by concerts in Ogre, Livani and elsewhere in Latvia. The recording sound engineer is Gustavs Ehrenpreiss. The recording took place in the 1st studio of “Latvijas Radio” from September 14 to September 16 and it is created with the support of the State Culture Capital Foundation and VSIA “Latvijas Koncerti”.
