The origins of the popular Latvian music program can be traced back to 1995, when it was decided to create an entertaining educational channel for young people within the framework of Latvian Radio. Since January 1, 2000, Latvijas Radio 2 has been broadcasting around the clock – from now on, the program is considered a full-fledged radio station.

Latvian Radio 2 anniversary program:
- at 8.15 the group “Other boys” will visit the air of LR2
- at 10.15 the musical association “Vintāža” will perform on the air

- Singer Ainars Bumbieris will be on the air at 4.15 pm

Maestro Raimonds Pauls has also taken care of a special surprise – after 15.00 the premiere of his song will be broadcast on LR2.
From 19.05, listeners will have the opportunity to hear a live broadcast of Ivo Fomina’s concert “Man” from VEF Culture Palace. In turn, the program “Naktsāķis”, which will be played on April 1 from 21.00 to 23.00, will have prepared a special evening program.
