Latvian Puppet Theater Fireplace Hall – a new playground in the Riga Latvian Society House / Article / LSM.lv

On October 3, a new playground of the Latvian Puppet Theater – Fireplace Hall – will be opened in the Riga Latvian Society House (RLBN), the representatives of the theater informed.

According to the conclusion of the construction board, from the beginning of the season to building reconstruction The Small Hall of the Latvian Puppet Theater has been closed, therefore it became necessary to look for an additional playground where the previous performances of the Small Hall could be performed. In cooperation with the RTGS and the Ministry of Culture, a solution was found for the creation of a temporary hall in the RTG Fireplace Hall, which will be the permanent small playground of the theater for at least 2 years.

The fireplace hall has a capacity of 110 seats, but due to restrictions, there are currently 60 seats available for spectators, divided into groups of two, three or four people. From this weekend, performances such as “Salātlapiņa”, “Kid who could count to ten”, “Three piglets and a wolf”, “Knight with sore teeth”, “Tuntuļu Jurītis”, “Tuntuļu Jurītis” will move to the new premises at 13 Merkela Street. Max and Moritz ”,“ Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf ”,“ A Tale of Diegabix ”,“ A Kitten named Wow ”,“ A Baby Swindler ”,“ Thumb ”and“ Princess on a Pea ”.

The October and November repertoire is currently available for sale. Tickets for Fireplace Hall performances are sold online and at all Ticket Paradise box offices. Representatives of the theater emphasize that tickets will not be sold in the Society’s house before the start of the performance, because the box office is not available there.

On October 3, the new hall will be opened by Viesturs Roziņš’s show “Salātlapiņa”, which in 2018/2019. was nominated for the “Players’ Night” award in the category “Performance of the Year for Children”, the director of the performance Viesturs Roziņš – in the category “Director of the Year”, and the rhythm group “Perpetuum Ritmico” – in the category “Author of the Musical Score of the Year”.

Simultaneously with the Fireplace Hall, performances will continue in the Great Hall of the Latvian Puppet Theater, which is located at Krišjāņa Barona Street 16/18. The two halls are a few minutes ’walk away. In order to avoid misunderstandings, spectators are invited to pay close attention to the instructions in which of the two game rooms are intended for their performance.
