Latvian musician Maia Stuže with a pseudonym Jenny Mayvisiting the program “Zilonis studiuė” openly talks about the eating disorders she had to deal with because of other people’s comments.

She suffered from bulimia. “I had bulimia when I started my singing career in Latvia.” She says that she received countless compliments during that time, and it made her feel special.

“Although I was already very thin, I read the comments earlier and it was mentioned that she was still too fat, she could lose a little more,” she recalls.

“Then my bulimia started. I always thought that I was not completely acceptable to anyone,” she says. It was not only because of the comments, but also because of the high dose of stress. “Then you’re too thin, then you’re too fat, and you’re not good for anyone,” M.Stuģe adds.

Bulimia was said to be like self-punishment. She also told her friend about it, but then a tragedy happened.
