Latvian Musician Don Thanks Fans After Impressive 7th Place in Eurovision Semi-Finals

“The result is impressive – 7th place in the semi-finals. We didn’t go in through any back door – we definitely went in. who had sent the message to their friends about their support they gave to Latvia.

All I can say is thank you very much!” Don thanked his fans in an interview with Latvian Television.

The musician also thanked his team, with whom it was possible to achieve this year’s results:

“I am happy with how we represented Latvia, how we were spoken to, how the world’s media showed us.

At this time, the musician plans to rest for a few days, but then he will start working with full power, which, due to the preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest, has remained in the background. Several ideas for new projects arose after the song competition, but only time will tell if they will come to fruition, said the musician.

It was already reported that Don participated in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday, May 11, which took place in “Malmo Arena” in Malmo, Sweden.

The song “Hollow” performed by the singer was in 16th place in the competition of 25 songs. Nemo, the Swiss representative, won the competition.

The singer Don represented Latvia in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, performing with the number 11 round. On Thursday, May 9, the singer took part in the second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, which took place in Malmö, Sweden. Latvia’s representative competed against 15 other countries in its semi-final, and the audience’s vote revealed that the representatives of Estonia, the Netherlands, Israel, Switzerland, Armenia, Greece, Norway, Georgia and Austria will be together with Latvia entering the final.

On February 10, Don became the winner of the Latvian Television “Supernova 2024” live song contest with the song “Hollow”, getting the opportunity to represent Latvia in the 68th international Eurovision Song Contest.

The song “Hollow” was first released in Latvian under the name “Lauzto šepu karaļvalsts”, which was recognized as the most valuable song of “Music Bank 2023”. The song “Hollow” was created with Irish songwriter and producer Liam Geddes and American songwriter Kate Northrop.

It has already been announced that in 2016 Justs Sirmais was the previous representative from Latvia who reached the Eurovision final. He ranked 15th with the song “Heartbeat” written by Aminata Savadogo.

Eurovision is organized by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
