The Ministry of Economy and the Latvian Blockchain Development Association have started cooperation in order to prepare Latvia’s offer to appeal to international blockchain and financial technology companies. As a result, the Latvian stand will be placed for the first time at the prestigious “Token 2049” conference, which will take place in mid-April in Dubai.
In preparation for the “Token2049” conference, both organizations are developing a joint presentation on Latvia’s advantages and offers of blockchain, financial technology and WEB 3.0. industry companies. This will be the first conference of its kind, where Latvia will have a coordinated and unified positioning through the cooperation of the industry and the public sector.

“The cooperation initiated by the Ministry of Economy and the Latvian Blockchain Development Association is an important step to promote the opportunities of Latvian companies in the international blockchain, financial technology and WEB 3.0. in the market. At the same time, in this way, Latvia also demonstrates its commitment to be the center of attention of the global blockchain and financial technologies, which in the long term has the potential to contribute to the development of our country’s economy and technology sector,” the Minister of Economics Viktors Valainis admits.
“Token2049” is one of blockchain and WEB 3.0. for the industry’s most popular conferences, which will take place in Dubai from April 18 to 19. The event is usually attended by more than 20,000 visitors and approximately 5,000 companies from around the world participate.
“We are very pleased with the opportunity to create together with the Ministry of Economy the first unified offer of Latvia for the international WEB 3.0. for the market. The year 2024 is an important reference point, as the European Commission’s cryptoassets regulation will come into force. This means that the industry’s leading companies are currently looking for countries with which to link their future ambitions. The fact that Latvia’s offer is developed and the country will be represented at the conference by representatives of both the public sector and the industry is a big plus – interest and good cooperation between the state and local industry professionals is a factor that blockchain and financial technology companies value as very important when choosing a country where potential to develop their business,” explains Reinis Znotiņš, Executive Director of LBAA.
