Dita gained her first professional knowledge of make-up art in 2007, after graduating from make-up school, and started working with various cosmetic brands. In 2011, Maybelline invited Dita to represent this brand in Latvia, which means working everyday and promoting the products of this brand. At the same time, Dita gained experience and still participates in various projects in Latvian magazines, photo shoots, and TV shows.
Six years ago, in 2017, noticing Dita’s talent and professionalism, the world’s leading cosmetics brand Lancôme invited her to become an international makeup artist in the Baltic countries. In order to unite and educate its makeup artists, every year Lancome organizes a week-long seminar, in which Dita also participates. She has attended seminars in South Korea, New York and Los Angeles. After a three-year hiatus due to the spread of Covid-19, this year at the beginning of April, the workshop was held in Lancôme’s homeland in France, Paris, where it was possible to visit the brand’s stores, the laboratory, participate in master classes and work together with other makeup artists from around the world.
At the end of the seminar, Lancôme awards the best artists of the past year, presenting its highest assessment – the Silver and Gold brush. Two years ago, Dita received the Silver Brush. The award was delivered by mail as there was no face-to-face seminar. This year, when the seminar ended at the prestigious, luxurious Hôtel de Crillon in the center of Paris, Dita was presented with the Golden Brush, and her colleague from the Netherlands – the Silver Brush. This award is given by evaluating, among other things, professional work, attitude and activity in social networks.
“Receiving this award, and from the creative director of Lancôme herself, Lisa Eldridge, one of the world’s leading makeup artists, I was really surprised. This award previously went to artists from “big” countries, such as colleagues from Australia, Russia, Mexico. When my name was called at the award ceremony, I couldn’t control my emotions – I burst into tears of joy, I felt great gratitude for the evaluation of my work and the honor of receiving this award,” reveals Dita.
“I am very happy because my work is also my hobby. When I received the Golden Brush, I once again realized how important it is to dream, because dreams really do come true,” Dita is convinced, “I have always dreamed of inspiring, educating and encouraging women, showing that just a little accentuating their natural beauty with makeup, choosing suitable colors and styles clothing, it is possible to highlight the beauty of each. The values that Lancôme tells about are also important to me – natural beauty, positive feelings, joy of life, care for oneself and nature, just like Lancôme’s most requested perfume “La Vie Est Belle” or “Life is beautiful”!” Dita’s passion is to teach make-up tutorials, create color charts for women, recommend suitable styles and capture it all in photographs. Dita has also realized her dream by creating her brand BE A WOMAN, WEAR A DRESS – linen dresses, which, according to Dita, are a symbol of femininity, they can be viewed on Instagram @beawomanwearadress.
