Latvian defender Edmunds Augstkalns will continue his career in Germany’s strongest third league team “Moskitos” of Essen. says club.
“With my game, I want to maintain the stability of the team and at the same time improve the attacking game. I am sure that we have enough potential to take a good place. I’ve been working hard over the summer months and I’m ready to chop,” the Latvian himself comments on the transition.
Last season, Augstkalns played in the Polish extra league unit “Torun”. In 37 games of the main tournament, he stood out with 11 (2+9) points, while in five “play-off” matches he had one assist.
During his career, the defender also played in Austria, Sweden and France. The hockey player represented the Latvian national team in one U18 and two U20 world championships, while in 2014/2015. In the season of 2008, he played four matches in the KHL as part of Riga “Dinamo”.
Augstkalns has become the eighth Latvian in the German third league and the third in the “Moskitos” unit – this unit will also be represented by Elvijs Biezais and Sandis Zolmanis in the upcoming season.
