In the talk show “Say it out loud” the world-famous Latvian composer visited Peter Vasks and a pianist Vestard Šimkus, who shared their thoughts on modern music and Latvian pop music. It turns out that composer Pēteris Vasks does not understand popular music at all.
Vestard, on the other hand, listens to such music in waves:
“Since I grew up in a family where my dad was a famous rock musician – not at all related to Mozart, the first experience was more from this genre than from classical music, and it appealed to me. Here we are talking about very early childhood.”
