DB Schenker, the world’s largest logistics company, has set up a venture capital division, Schenker Ventures, which will invest money, resources and expertise in new logistics business models and start-ups.

According to Kristo Vragers, Member of the Board of JSC “Schenker”, Latvian companies that are looking for a large and strong partner for further development of their logistics-related products or services are also invited to join the program. One of the key principles of Schenker Ventures is to give the start-up sufficient leeway and complete control over its business. By providing access to financing, networks, customer contacts and relevant knowledge, we create an environment that allows new companies to grow rapidly, ”says K.Vragers.

DB Schenker’s venture capital division has two branches. The first combines existing DB Schenker joint ventures with more than 50 start-ups and, as a long-term investor, also attracts new ones to design and develop mainly digital, technological and sustainable logistics business models.

The second branch is formed together with MVP Factory, an international consulting company specializing in digitization and venture capital. The task of the new department is to find all the necessary resources for start-ups and to start successful logistics companies, which will change the future of this industry.

DB Schenker is a logistics company that is a world leader in land, air and water transport, employing 74,000 people in 130 countries.
