If the new company develops successfully in the coming months, it will be able to apply for new investments.
Jānis Kreilis, Juris Sorokins and Roberts Tomme have been inseparable friends since they returned home after studying abroad and became co-founders of the Association “With World Experience in Latvia”.
The boys have been doing business together for a little over a year, the small office has both a balance board for lovers of sharp sensations and board games for a quieter rest.
A few months ago, the boys had a crazy idea to apply to the international start-up accelerator “Antler”, where the best business ideas are selected, teams are formed and trained, and the best ones get funding for business development.
“We passed a competition to enter this program in general, and now in recent months we have been really working hard to get funding. And it’s a real pleasure to get recognition from experienced people in the industry who say – yes, you guys are really right about this! ” says Robert Tomme, one of the founders of the new company “Hyperjob”.
The idea of the boys’ business is quite simple – to make old-fashioned job advertisements relevant today.
“Job postings don’t say much. If you look at it, they might as well still be typewritten, ”says Jānis Kreilis, the head of Hyperjob.
“Reading a job advertisement is the moment when a job seeker makes a decision – OK, I’m interested in applying or not. With this ordinary text, there is little opportunity to tell more, to make a person feel – how to apply for this particular company. We solve it all by including pictures, including better data, other types of content, videos, so that a person has this deepest understanding of what awaits them when applying for a job. ”
The Latvian idea received not only praise and new customers from investors, but also funding of 110,000 US dollars, which is almost 100,000 euros.
They will be able to use this money as they see fit. In a few months, the progress will be assessed, and in case of successful development, it will be possible to receive new funding.
“We plan to develop the product and improve it, but – most importantly – to develop sales. It means understanding the channels through which we can reach our potential customers, our target audience, ”says one of the founders of the new company, Juris Sorokins.
After competing with start-ups from all over the world for several months, the guys have gained confidence that Latvia can compete safely in terms of ideas. The key is to dare.
