Latvian beach volleyball championship. Game for 1st place for women / Article / LSM.lv

In the first stage of the Latvian beach volleyball championship, the two highest teams Tīna Graudiņa / Anastasija Kravčenoka and Varvara Brailko / Anete Namiķe will meet in Ventspils on Sunday to win the women’s tournament. You can see the match live on LTV7 and replay.lv.

The main favorites in the semifinals of Graudiņa / Kravčenoka defeated Estonia over Helena Holas / Lisa Somets with 2: 0 (21:13, 21:14), while Brailko / Namiķe with 2: 1 (13:21, 21:13, 15:13) was superior to Lithuanians Ieva Dumbauskaite / Gerda Grudzinskaitė.

At the end of the stage, there will be a game for the first place for men, with Aleksandrs Samoilovs / Jānis Šmēdiņš and Lithuanians Patrik Stankevičs / Audrjum Knašas competing.

In the game for the 3rd place in men, the main favorites Mārtiņš Pļaviņš / Edgars Točs beat Aleksandrs Solovejs / Mihails Samoilovs 2: 1 (21:19, 18:21, 15: 9).

Pļaviņš / Točs, who were placed with the first number, did not lose in any set until the semi-final, however, in the fight for the place in the final in cold and windy weather with 1: 2 (21:17, 20:22, 14:16) they acknowledged the superiority of Stankevičs / Knaša. Aleksandrs Samoilovs / Šmēdiņš defeated Solovejs / Mikhail Samoilovs 2: 1 (19:21, 21:14, 15:10) in the semifinals.

After a bronze match, Toc admitted in an interview on Latvian Television that he would have to go to the ground and work harder to fight for the highest goals. Pļaviņš, on the other hand, added that in the game for the 3rd place, the opponents were very well known to each other, therefore there was no lack of previously predictable episodes in the fight. Currently, the couple is preparing to be in best shape in August, when the international season could resume.

In the game for the 3rd place for women, Estonian Holasa / Sometsa with 2: 0 (21:18, 21:18) was superior to Dumbauskaite / Grudzinskaita.

The first of the five stages of the season will take place in Ventspils, bringing together all the best pairs of beach volleyball in both men’s and women’s competitions, as well as several masterful duets of neighboring countries.
