Latvian Basketball 100: Honorary Award Ceremony Recognizes Contributions to the Development of Basketball in Latvia

In honor of the centenary of Latvian basketball, the Latvian Basketball Association (LBS) held an honorary award ceremony – Latvian basketball 100, in which both individuals and organizations were awarded, which developed, popularized and contributed to the improvement of basketball in Latvia and the popularization of the name in the world.

Aldis Baumanis, chairman of the Turība Development Council, director of our basketball club (BK Turība) Jānis Vecrinks and the team’s head coach Raimonds Feldmanis also received awards among the awardees.

Aldis Baumanis, chairman of the Turība University of Business School and the Development Council of the university, received an award for his contribution to the development of Latvian basketball, and Raimonds Feldmanis, the coach of the Turība basketball team, received letters of thanks from the Prime Minister of Latvia, Evikas Siliņa, and the Minister of Education and Science, Anda Čakša, for his long-term professional work, as well as the Olympic, World and preparation of winners of European championships.

We are proud of the imprint left in the history of Latvian basketball and thank LBS for the awards.
