Aerones, a wind turbine maintenance provider, is raising $30 million in growth capital to expand its operations globally, the company’s representatives said.

The capital will be used to help the company meet the rapidly growing demand in the wind turbine maintenance market. The funding will allow Aerones to expand its technical and sales functions, increase the number of on-site robotic crew teams, expand its presence in fast-growing markets in Africa and Australia, and introduce new services to the market.
The financing round is jointly managed by new investment partners “Lightrock” and “Haniel”, “Blume Equity” also participated in it, as well as existing investors “Change Ventures”, “Metaplanet” and Mantas Mikuckas.
As company representatives explain, Aerones’ robotic wind turbine maintenance solutions are up to six times faster, 40% more efficient and much safer than traditional solutions that use certified industrial mountaineering technicians, which are slower and unable to operate in bad weather conditions. Aerones’ patented modular robotic solution now enables the company to provide a full suite of inspection (external visual, internal, lightning protection, ultrasonic), maintenance (painting, ice repellent coating, blade and tower cleaning) and repair (leading edge) services.
The company currently serves customers representing 50% of the world’s wind energy capacity, including leading operators such as NextEra, GE, Vestas, Enel and Siemens Gamesa. The company currently operates in North America, Europe and South America. The demand for the company’s services has more than tripled last year.
SIA “Aerones Nordic” was registered in 2018 and its share capital is 6.205 million euros, according to “Firmas.lv” information. The company’s turnover in 2021 was 496,213 euros and losses – 1.488 million euros. The sole owner of the company is SIA “Aerones Engineering”.
“Aerones Engineering” was registered in 2007 and its share capital is 8.413 million euros. The turnover of the company in 2021 was 1.161 million euros and the profit was 136,955 euros. “Aerones Engineering” belongs to “Aerones Inc.”, registered in the USA.
