Latvia participates in the Frankfurt book market with an event program and an illustration / article exhibition

Numerous events open to market visitors and the general public will take place in Frankfurt during the market. On October 19th, at 10:30 am, writer and illustrator Anete Melece will participate in the Frankfurt Book Market conference on children’s books “How to create different books?”. Melece’s book “Kiosk” has been translated into more than 20 world languages ​​in recent years, as well as acting in theater and opera. During the entire period of the market – from 19 to 23 October – in hall 4, stand n. The exhibition “The Horse” of Latvian illustrators and authors will be exhibited at D59.

On the evening of October 19th the “Late Show with Latvian Writers” will be held at the “Walden” restaurant in Frankfurt at 7 pm at the “Walden” restaurant in Frankfurt, where four Latvian authors – Jānis Jonevs, Krišjānis Zeļgis, Andris Kuprišs, Arvis Viguls – books were published in Germany, he will perform. The illustrator Zane Zlemeša, representative of the comic magazine “kuš”, will participate in the comic and zine festival “Cozi”, which will take place in Frankfurt from 21 to 23 October.

This year, Latvia will be represented at the Frankfurt book market by “Jāņa Rozes apgās”, “Pētergailis”, “Liels und mazs”, “Madris”, “Aminori”, “Baltais valis”, “Jāņas sēta” and the Latvian Book Publishers Association. This year, the Latvian stand will be 72 square meters (m2), which is 24 m2 more than last year. 32 m2 of market area is intended for the exhibition “The Horse”, which will be set up in a separate stand. The participation of Latvia with a national stand (Hall 4, Stand No. B2) in the Frankfurt Book Market is organized by the Latvian Investment and Development Agency in cooperation with the “Latvian Literature” platform.
