In the first ten months of this year, Latvia had one of the fastest export growth rates among the European Union (EU) countries compared to the same period last year, according to Eurostat data released on Thursday.
In January-October of this year, compared to the first ten months of 2020, the volume of exports in Latvia has increased by 23%.
Only Greece (+ 29%), Estonia (+ 28%) and Croatia (+ 25%) saw higher export growth in this period, while Bulgaria also saw similar growth as in Latvia.
Lithuania saw an increase of 18%, but the smallest increase was in Ireland (+ 1%).
Exports have increased in all EU countries.
The volume of imports in January-October has increased compared to the corresponding period of 2020 in all EU member states, but the largest increase was in Estonia (+ 32%), Slovenia (+ 30%), Latvia (+ 29%), as well as Lithuania and Greece (both countries). + 27%).
