Latvia has achieved the highest Covid-19 cumulative indicator in the Baltics during the entire pandemic period

With the cumulative Covid-19 morbidity rate increasing to 1605.9, Latvia has achieved the highest Covid-19 morbidity rate in the Baltics during the entire pandemic period.

According to the data of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the cumulative infection rate in Latvia during the day has increased from 1539.2 to 1605.9 cases per 100,000 population, which is the highest rate registered in Latvia so far.

To date, the highest level of Covid-19 infection in the Baltics was recorded on March 18 in Estonia, where it reached 1,553.1 cases per 100,000 population. In Lithuania, the highest incidence of Covid-19 was found at the end of last year, when on December 24, there were 1431.7 cases per 100,000 population in Lithuania.

Latvia had previously managed to avoid such high levels of illness as in neighboring countries, and the highest level of illness was recorded on January 9, when it reached 693.9 infected per 100,000 population. However, this Latvian “record” fell on October 12 and now every day in Latvia a new highest level of morbidity is reached.

On Friday, October 22, the 14-day cumulative incidence per 100,000 population in Lithuania reached 1270.3, and in Estonia – 1238.2 cases.
