Latinos are the second most vaccinated demographic in NYC

Mayor de Blasio announced an achievement in his initiative to provide incentives to New Yorkers who get vaccinated against COVID-19.

During his daily conference, de Blasio reported that 250,000 New Yorkers have been inoculated since he announced the delivery of $ 100 as an incentive for those who get the first dose of the vaccine.

It also reported that 45% of the people who have benefited are Latino. And precisely, Hispanics are now the second demographic in the city with the highest vaccination rate.

Similarly, the incentive has also been used by young people, since 40% of those who have received the $ 100 dollars are New Yorkers between the ages of 18 and 35.

He pointed out that the workers’ vaccination mandate has also yielded good results, since since they were implemented at the end of July: 1.7 million new doses have been administered. This has allowed the daily vaccination rate to be increased by 45%, also since the end of June.

Regarding the mandatory provision of vaccination for employees of the Department of Education, the Mayor reported the following figures reached as of Sunday, October 3:

  • 95% of full-time employees
  • 95% of teachers
  • 99% of managers
  • 43,000 new doses applied since the announcement of the mandate on August 23.
