Latino teenager robbed and abused a woman in broad daylight in a New York park; he had 19 arrests and stabbed a man

Christopher Martínez, a 19-year-old teenager, was arrested on suspicion of robbing and abusing a woman, threatening her with a knife, in a park in the Bronx (NYC) in broad daylight.

Martinez had 19 previous arrests, including attempted murder after stabbing a man four times in an apparently random attack last week, according to ABC News.

Now he was arrested on Thursday and charged with the attack on a woman that happened Tuesday around 8:30 a.m. en St. Mary’s Park, vecindario Mott Haven. In addition to rape, the young man faces charges of robbery, criminal sexual act and forcible contact.

The unidentified victim, a 38-year-old mother, said she is now too scared to go home and she and her family are looking to move as soon as possible. In a telephone interview, he told NBC News She was traumatized by the attack, as was her 17-year-old son, who saw the assailant.

NYPD released Wednesday a video of the suspect seeking his capture. According to the complaint, the attacker was waiting in front of the woman’s apartment near Beech Terrace and Beekman Avenue, and when the victim left her apartment at 8:30 am he punched her.

The victim said that at first the man wanted to enter her house, but she refused because her 17-year-old son was inside. That’s when the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded the woman follow him to the park.

The armed suspect forced the mother to walk to St. Mary’s Park, where he brutally raped her and stole her debit card, demanding that she give him her PIN to use it. The victim said the man then did something that shocked her even more: He accompanied her back to her house, as if nothing had happened.

He then ran off and used his victim’s debit card to make a $3 dollar purchase at a nearby grocery store, according to police. The woman received treatment at an area hospital.

NYPD is also looking for another perverted thief who got out of a car to hit and rob a woman on a street in Brooklyn (NYC) and returned minutes later to sexually assault her, Friday morning.

In a similar case, last week a man was accused of kidnapping, beating and raping a woman over the course of four days in the Bronx (NYC).
