Latino shot dead in Charlotte, police investigate the case

Charlotte.- A Latino man died after being shot in Charlotte, in an incident that the police are investigating to find those responsible.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that the victim was identified as José Antonio Mejía Gaona25 years old.

The events occurred on Monday, October 14, 2024, at approximately 7:00 in the morning, at 3600 North Sharon Amity Road, between Central Ave and Albemarle Rd.

According to the police report, they went to that location for an emergency call where they requested help for a person.

But when they arrived, they found José Antonio Mejía Gaona with a gunshot wound and medical services tried to help him.

However, the Latino man died at the scene as a result of the injuries suffered after being shot.

According to information published by the Queen City News portal, the victim’s body was found behind a restaurant.

Authorities indicated that detectives from the Homicide Unit went to the scene to process the scene and collect physical evidence.
