Isidro Rodríguez was arrested yesterday for allegedly running a red light while speeding, crashing into another car and fatally running over an elderly pedestrian. on the last Memorial Day, the NYPD said.
Rodriguez, 36, a resident of Brooklyn, was charged with involuntary manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, assault, and reckless driving in connection with the accident that claimed the life of 65-year-old Jun Jin Yang.
Rodriguez’s 2020 Cadillac SUV crashed into a Hyundai Sonata at West 1st Street and Avenue P in the vecindario Bensonhurst the morning of May 30. The impact caused the Cadillac to veer into pedestrian Yang, a resident of the Two Bridges neighborhood of Manhattan, according to authorities. The victim was pronounced dead at Maimonides Medical Center, he recalled. New York Post.
No further injuries were reported. The two drivers remained at the scene, but only Rodriguez was identified as a suspect.
