The Pope contacted the Holy Family Parish, the only Latin church in Gaza, seeking information on those who have taken refuge. In an interview with Vatican News, Sister Nabila said that the Pope said that he understands the depth of the suffering and that Gazza and the people are always in his prayers.
“The Pope called Father Joseph, the vicar of the church. The Pope did not speak Italian very well, so he gave me the phone. The first thing the Pope asked was how many people had taken refuge in the church. There are about five hundred people, including children. The Pope said that everyone is being prayed for and given all the support. The courage of his words is indescribable”. Sister Nabila said. The sister added that she had asked the Pope to intervene to restore peace in Gaza.
