Latin America epicenter corona: over 100,000 deaths Abroad

The region has become the epicenter of the global corona outbreak in recent weeks. Whereas in countries such as China, Great Britain and Italy – which were previously reported to be severely affected by the virus – the outbreak seems to be extinguishing, the number of new infections and deaths in Latin America has been steadily increasing recently.

Brazil is the hardest hit country in the region in terms of infections and deaths. On Tuesday, 1374 deaths and nearly 40,000 new infections were recorded. Brazil now has more than 1.1 million known infections and about 52,000 corona deaths.

Mexico has approximately 191,000 known virus cases according to official figures. In the country, 23,337 people have died from the lung virus. These numbers are only higher in Brazil. On Tuesday, more than 6200 infections and 793 deaths occurred, according to authorities.
