Latest Update on Uncharted Remake: Insider Leaks and New Information

The hosts of The XboxEra podcast said during their latest episode that a completely remastered and remastered version of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is expected to be released soon. The cult adventure game with shootouts and puzzles was supposed to receive improved graphics and come to PS5 along with PC. As it turned out, insiders shared a leak that was more than 6 years out of date. It turned out that Sony was indeed working on an Uncharted remake, but its development was frozen indefinitely.

Reputable modder and data miner Speclizer_, who specializes in analyzing PS5 games, shared fresh and truly relevant information. He claims that all the new rumors about a remake of the first Uncharted appeared after his research. He managed to fully analyze the 2020 build of The Last of Us: Part 2, where, much to his surprise, references to a new version of Uncharted were found.

Apparently, the Uncharted remake was supposed to use the same engine as The Last of Us: Part 2. Therefore, references to levels, character names, and other elements of a third-party project were found in the build of the latter game.

According to another trusted leaker named Kempy161, Sony has been actively developing an Uncharted remake since 2018. They wanted to release the project for the premiere of the film adaptation of the franchise, but its production was frozen long before that. The development team switched to a remake of The Last of Us, and since then it remains unknown whether the authors have returned to the idea of reviving Uncharted.
