Latest Survey: Decline in Voting Intention for AUR and the Rise of SOS Romania in Romanian Parliamentary Elections

If parliamentary elections are held next Sunday, the voting option would look completely different than before. If AUR was in favor until now, the party has lost sympathizers.

The Center for Urban and Regional Sociology – CURS conducted a survey about the parliamentary elections between September 12 and 22, 2023. It reveals that, in general, the intention to vote at the national level does not show radical changes compared to the results of the previous omnibus survey in July 2023.

However, there are some significant trends in voter preferences.

Survey. Who would the Romanians vote with if the parliamentary elections were held

There is a significant decline in voting intention for AUR, and this decline can be attributed, at least in part, to the recent scandals that have affected the party.

Their percentage decreased by 2%. On the other hand, the SOS Romania party, led by Diana Șoșoacă, managed to reach the minimum threshold of 5% necessary to enter the Parliament. Thus becoming a serious competitor for the party of George Simion and Claudiu Târziu.

USR leaders seem to be having difficulty finding effective strategies, and the result is a drop in the party’s voting intention, which now stands at just 11%.

Moreover, PSD would be in the first position as before.
