Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Ministry of Communications (Ministry of Transportation) officially released the latest travel terms for passengers train.
The regulation is contained in Circular (SE) Number 96 of 2021 concerning Guidelines for the Implementation of Domestic Travel by Air Transportation during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Spokesman Adita Irawati explained that inter-city train travelers from and to areas within the island of Java must show a vaccine card. At a minimum, passengers get the first dose of vaccine injection.
In addition, train passengers are also required to show a negative rapid antigen test result whose sample is taken a maximum of 1×24 hours.
“This provision does not apply to travel in pioneer areas and underdeveloped, frontier, outermost, and border areas,” Adita said in an official statement, Tuesday (2/11).
If the results of the rapid antigen test are negative but the prospective passenger shows symptoms of COVID-19 indications, the prospective passenger is prohibited from continuing the journey and is required to carry out a PCR diagnostic test and self-isolation during the waiting time for the results of the examination.
Meanwhile, the obligation to show a vaccine card is exempted for travelers under the age of 12, travelers for logistics and other goods transportation who travel domestically outside Java-Bali, as well as travelers with special health conditions.
He said the Ministry of Transportation would cooperate with the regional Covid-19 Handling Task Force, regional governments, the Transportation Service, and the TNI/Polri in overseeing the implementation of this SE.
This rule, added Adita, is effective from today until an undetermined time. This rule can also be extended according to developments in the field.
