Lenny Joseph in Grenoble

FC Metz and Grenoble Football 38 formalized the transfer of Lenny Joseph this Thursday morning. The young 22-year-old striker, who had one year left on his contract with the club at the Croix de Lorraine, has signed up for the next two seasons with the Isère club trained by ex-Messin Vincent Hognon.

“FC Metz allowed me to take my first steps as a pro, to gain experience so I am satisfied,” said the man who joined Lorraine in June 2021 from Le Puy (National). “Now I’m not the type to say I’m in Ligue 1 to be in Ligue 1 without playing. So I was looking for a project to have playing time. The choice to come to Grenoble was made after talking with the coach and the general manager: I felt that they were really interested in recruiting me. It is a sign of trust. I was marked last season by the beautiful stadium in the Alps when we came here so I can’t wait to play there again. I’m in good shape, I played and scored in preparation so I feel ready. »

In addition to the loans of Xhuliano Skuka to Maribor (Slovenian D1), Lilian Raillot, Oussmane Kebe, Édouard Soumah-Abbad, Maïdine Douane (Seraing) and Othmane Chraibi (Châteauroux), this is the second departure within the Metz squad after that of Lamine Gueye at Paris FC (Ligue 2).

Jean N’Guessan approaching

Would FC Metz hold its second summer recruit? Midfielder Jean N’Guessan should join the club at the Croix de Lorraine in the coming hours with a four-year contract. The 20-year-old Ivorian international (1 selection), loaned last season to Nîmes (35 League matches for 2 goals and 3 assists), would therefore have reached an agreement with OGC Nice – with whom he is linked until June 2026 – to join Lorraine this summer.

And like their male counterparts, they will host Olympique de Marseille in their first home game on October 1.

As a reminder, the end of the first leg matches (11th day) is scheduled for Sunday February 4, 2024 while the 22nd and last day will take place on Sunday May 26.

Hugo Colella, former resident of the FC Metz training center, joins Othmane Chraibi in Châteauroux

He continues his little way in National. Hugo Colella (23) has signed up for Châteauroux for two years from US Orléans. The midfielder cut his teeth at the FC Metz training center between 2014 and 2018 (he also obtained his baccalaureate there in 2017).

Passed by Germany (Hessen Dreieich, Berliner AK), Luxembourg (Hesperange) or even Belgium (RE Virton), the native of Strasbourg played eight matches in National and nine in National 3 with the Orleans reserve team last season. “I am very happy to join the Berrichonne. I can’t wait to start in my new colors and help the team achieve its goals,” said Hugo Colella on his signing.

This is currently the seventh recruit of the Berrichonne, who has also recorded the arrival of young midfielder Othmane Chraibi, on loan from FC Metz.

Former Messin Louis Mafouta in Amiens

After a rather successful season in Ligue 2 under the colors of Quevilly-Rouen (34 matches, 11 goals, 4 assists), Louis Mafouta has signed up with Amiens for the next three seasons in favor of Amiens SC. The former Messin (loaned to the Moselle club by Neuchâtel Xamax between January and June 2022) will meet some of his ex-teammates on Saturday July 29 for a preparation match scheduled at the La Licorne stadium.
