A ship with 3,000 cars on board catches fire off the coast of the Netherlands

From August 9, a ban is introduced on the export from Japan to Russia of cars with engines over 1.9 liters, hybrid cars and electric vehicles, including used ones. The ban will also include the import of yachts, trains, metal products, glass and fabrics into Russia. According to Japanese customs, 91,700 cars worth ¥110 billion (€713.1 million) were exported from the country to Russia in the first five months of 2023, almost all of them used.
