UPDATE ON COVID-19 VIRUS IN CICERO: As of February 27, February 28, and today, Monday, March 1, 2021 and at the time of this report, according to the Cook County Interactive Map System, 725 more Cicero residents received tests for COVID. There were 20 more positive COVID cases reported in Cicero. The total cumulative cases in Cicero is now 12,373.
COVID TESTS PERFORMED AT CICERO: As of March 1, 2021– – A total of 80,929 Cicero residents have been tested for COVID-19.
DEATHS OF CICERO RESIDENTS FROM COVID-19: The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office shows 191 Cicero residents have died from a COVID 19-related illness since March 16, 2020.

The latest figures reported statewide in Illinois on March 1, 2021 are as follows: 1,143 new cases were reported today in Illinois for a cumulative total of 1,187,839 reported COVID cases. Today, 20 more deaths were reported in Illinois for a cumulative total of 20,536 deaths.
VACCINES AGAINST THE COVID-19 VIRUS:
Cook County is now accepting appointments to facilitate vaccinations as supplies are available.
Cook County officials want to share the site and the new phone number for those who live and / or work in the suburbs of Cook County.
Those interested in getting an appointment to receive a vaccine can visit the following link online:

Now, there is also a phone number available for those who do not want or do not want to use the Internet to register. That number is 1-833-308-1988 and it will be open Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The only caveat is that the vaccine supply remains extremely limited, so people who are eligible, even if they are, won’t be able to make an appointment right away.
COVID TESTING FOR CICERO RESIDENTS:
NEW SITE: At 34th Street and Laramie Avenue – The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is open for COVID testing. The tests are administered 7 days a week. Hours of operation are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm No appointment is necessary.
The Access Health Center located at 3040 South Cicero Avenue is open for COVID testing. The phone number is 708-780-9777. Tests are available by appointment only.
‘Prism Test’ – Sponsored by School District 99, COVID testing takes place at 1845 south of Laramie Avenue. Test hours are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Sue Grazzini, director of the Cicero Health Department, reports that her Department has a telehealth service available. Call the Health Department at 708-656-3600 Extension 147, 148 and 149 for more information. Dr. Licea is available remotely and in person on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 pm to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 8 am to 5 pm
Dr. Caterino is available to do foot exams. All residents must undergo a body temperature test and must complete the COVID-19 questionnaire before entering the Health Department Building. Everyone must wear face masks to enter the building and social distancing must be maintained.
The Cicero Health Clinic has now expanded its services. Now we offer:
Vaccinations for all ages, you do not need to make an appointment:
Monday and Wednesday – 8:30 am – 7:30 pm
Martes – 9 am – 6:30 pm
Thursday – 10 am – 7:30 pm
Parents must bring their immunization records, current identification, and their health insurance card.
