According to the latest report from the Ministry of Health of this country, the figures reported between March 31 and April 6 of this year differ little from those computed in the previous seven days, when there were 21,000 infections and 156 deaths as a result of the disease, indicating that the pandemic continues to wreak havoc.
In fact, the positivity rate after carrying out 388,766 tests was 5.2 percent, higher than the 4.9 percentage points reported in the previous note.
Hospitalizations for Covid-19 in normal wards decreased by 94, but in intensive care they increased by one patient and now there are 84 admitted in serious conditions.
The official statement also refers to progress in vaccinations, of vital importance to try to contain the advance of the disease.
In this regard, it points out that up to April 7, 144 million 345 thousand 755 doses of the drug were administered and 48 million 723 thousand 77 people completed the cycle, approximately 90.2 percent of the population over 12 years of age. Until that date, 5,997,170 people received the second booster of the vaccine, 31.37 percent of the expected population, for having completed their vaccination cycle at least four months ago, while 1,410,903 children between 5 and 11 years were immunized with at least one dose.
