Latest BWF rankings: Kevin / Marcus dropped into position

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released the latest ranking of the best badminton players in the world. Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo / Marcus Fernaldi Gideon definitely dropped to second place.

The update can be seen on the BWF website starting September 20, 2022. Kevin / Marcus, who previously continued to be strong and dominated the men’s doubles industry for the past five years, now have to step down.

They are now in second place after being moved by Japanese doubles Takuro Hoki / Yugo Kobayashi. Kevin / Marco collected 100,327 points, while Hoki / Kobayashi won 102,050 points in first place.

All this year, Kevin / Marco in fact he does not get the best results in a certain number of international tournaments. The best results of the two are the semifinalists at the Indonesia Masters and All England 2022.

They also often miss several games because Marcus’s condition hasn’t fully recovered after his ankle surgery.

Of the other two men’s doubles, Hendra Setiawan / Mohammad Ahsan and Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto have not undergone a change of position. Each is still in fourth and sixth place with a collection of 94,895 and 84,755 points.

Likewise, the other three red and white doubles remained in their positions last week. Pramudya Kusumawardana / Yeremia Rambitan, Bagas Maulana / Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin are ranked 13th (64.197 points), 16 (58.212 points) and 17 (58.107 points).

From the women’s doubles sector, Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Silva Ramdhanti recorded a significant increase. They climbed three places to 28th place in the world. Apriyani / Fadia now accumulates 45.690 points.

Similar changes were also experienced by Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma / Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi, who moved up one level to 35th place with 41,168 points.

Meanwhile, Nita Violina Marwah / Putri Syaikah dropped two places to 49th place with 32,856 points.

There were no significant variations in the men’s singles and mixed doubles sectors. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Jonatan Christie are still in sixth and eighth places in the world.

For Shesar Hiren Rhustavito and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo are ranked 24 and 25. Both this week underwent a renewal of the ranking after moving up a level. Meanwhile Rinov Rivaldi / Phita Haningtyas Mentari are still in 17th place in the world.
