Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku, for 45 minutes, lost 3-2 at West Ham on Matchday 15 of the Premier League.
The Blues remain stuck at 33 points and could see Manchester City grab first place if they win at Watford.
On the bench for the third time in a row in the league since his return from injury, Romelu Lukaku has enjoyed more playing time than in the two previous meetings (9 and 22 minutes), since he entered mid- time. The Blue were leading 1-2 when the Dibale Rouge came into play. Thiago Silva opened the scoring shortly before the half-hour mark (28th, 0-1), before West Ham re-established the tie at 5 minutes from the break by Manuel Lanzini, following a fault by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy (40th, 1-1). Chelsea regained the advantage just before half-time with a superb volley from the inside of the right foot in the rectangle of Mason Mount on a long pass from Hakim Ziyech (44th, 1-2).
Returning from the locker room, the Hammers were soon to once again pick up the score through Jarrod Bowen, author of a left foot strike at the entrance to the rectangle (56th, 2-2). Coming up in stoppage time in the first half, Arthur Masuaku would offer the victory to West Ham a few minutes from the end of the game. On the left side, the Congolese tried his luck and his sending was deflected by Ruben Loftus-Cheek before going to lodge in the nets of Edouard Mendy (87th, 3-2).
