The conference of the ten Areopagites of the Plenary Session of the A1 political department of the Supreme Court began at noon on Sunday and according to information is expected to conclude late on Tuesday night.
After the exclusion of the parties of Latinopoulos and Emfietzoglou-Bogdanou for name theft, the Supreme Court is examining behind closed doors whether the 48 (out of the original 50) parties, coalitions and individual candidates, meet the conditions to stand in the upcoming elections.
Among the parties that have declared participation is that of Ilias Kassidiaris “National Greek Party”, whose president is said to be the retired Brigadier General Dimitris Hatziliadis, and the “EAN” of the former vice president of the Supreme Court, Anastasios Kanellopoulos.
Latinopoulos Party
Constantinos Bogdanos had appealed against the “Patrida” party of Ms. Afroditis Latinopoulou for name theft, claiming that the name was his, while the judges ruled that there is illegal appropriation of a symbol by the party originally founded by Mr. Bogdanos from which Ms. Latinopoulou was deleted.
Party of Emfietzoglou-Bohdanou
The party of Mr. Emfietzoglou-Bogdanou did not get approval from the Supreme Court either, as after an appeal by a party called the Patriotic Union “EL.LAS” – Hellenic People’s Coalition, in which it was argued that Mr. Bogdanos and Mr. Emfietzoglou of they “stole” the brand, it was unanimously decided that there is name theft and furthermore that the symbol with the Vergina star is a national symbol and by law, its use is prohibited.
Nikolopoulos Party
The party “Greeks 3 Christian Democrats” of Mr. Nikos Nikolopoulos will not participate in the elections, although he had submitted a candidacy to the Supreme Court, since as he states, he failed to digitally submit the necessary documents for participation in the process, blaming to “hackers of Kyriakos Pierrakakis”.
