Late at night, Jokowi checks shopping activities at Grand Indonesia Mall

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) returned to visiting the shopping center after the repeal of the Enforcement of Restrictions on Community Activities policy (PPKM) in Indonesia a few weeks ago. Jokowi checked shopping activities at Grand Indonesia Mall.

Jokowi arrived at Grand Indonesia Mall, Central Jakarta, Sunday (15/1/2023), around 19.30 WIB. Jokowi who wore a white long-sleeved shirt then walked around to several shops while chatting with the employees there.

When approaching one of the local brand clothing stores, Executive, Jokowi was seen buying a black hat and shirt. One of the clothing store staff, Rani, said she was proud that the local brand shop where she worked was approached by Jokowi.

“We are very proud of the local brand being visited by Pak Jokowi,” said Rani.

Meanwhile, regarding the revocation of the PPKM policy, Rani said that this had a good impact on her shop. According to Rani, sales figures have increased again after the government revoked the policy.

“Thank God it’s been amazing at Grand Indonesia,” he said.

Apart from that, one of the mall visitors, Meyrina, also welcomed the repeal of the PPKM policy. Even though it is more flexible, Meyrina admits that she remains alert when on the move.

“Yes, there may be concerns that will still remain, but with the lifting of this PPKM, we are more free to leave the house and do our activities, of course,” said Meyrina.

After about two hours visiting Grand Indonesia, then Jokowi returned to the Merdeka Palace.
