This is evident from the weekly figures of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). No new hospital admissions and new deaths have been added.
The total number of infections in Drenthe is 588 after today. This puts Drenthe in second place after Groningen as the province with the least infections. In Groningen, the total number this week stands at 524 after an increase of 65. Figures from the GGD Drenthe show that a total of 20,000 people in Drenthe have been tested for the corona virus since March.

In the past week, 4013 people have been told that they have contracted the new corona virus. That is slightly less than the 4,036 cases confirmed in the week to last Tuesday. It is the first decrease since the RIVM has published weekly figures.
Sixteen people have died from the corona virus in the past week. That was nine a week earlier, and six the week before. In addition, fifty people were hospitalized for an infection, compared to 38 in the previous week and 44 a week earlier. The number of admissions to intensive care also rose. In the past seven days, 25 people ended up in an IC unit, compared to 18 in the previous week.

Testing
Nationally, just over 100,000 people have had themselves tested for the corona virus in the past week. That is about the same as in the weeks before. 3.5 percent of all people tested actually had the virus. The week before this was 3.6 percent. The percentage of positive tests is highest in the regions of Rotterdam-Rijnmond, Amsterdam, Haaglanden, Central and West Brabant and South Holland-South.
Reproduction number
The reproduction number hardly changed, it dropped from 1.20 to 1.19 in the past week. That means that a group of 100 people with the virus infects an average of 119 people, who in turn infect about 142 people. For example, the group of patients keeps growing and the virus spreads. If the number falls below 1, the virus can die.
According to the RIVM there are 438 active clusters, 59 more than a week ago. Three or more cases can be related in a cluster. The largest group of patients consists of 45 people. Most people contract the disease at home, followed by contacts with family and friends, and parties and work as the main sources.
