The Government delegate in the Region, José Vélez, has met in Madrid with the general director of the State Land Entity (Sepes), Lucrecio Fernández, to finalize the details that will allow the sale of 276,000 square meters to be unblocked to the Port Authority of Cartagena, dependent on the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, for the Logistics Activities Zone (ZAL) of Cartagena.
The general director of the State Land Entity has transmitted to Vélez his commitment to streamline the legal-administrative procedures that allow the Board of Directors to authorize the operation at its next meeting, scheduled for the end of September, according to sources from the Delegation in a statement.
“I want to publicly thank MITMA and the Government of Spain for their commitment to the Murcia Region by firmly betting on the development of the Cartagena ZAL”, according to Vélez, who has acknowledged that “the procedures have not been easy, as there have been to face the repeated breaches of the regional government of the commitments acquired for the development of the ZAL “.
“Fortunately, the Government of Spain responds with facts to its commitments and responsibilities and it only remains to demand from the Autonomous Community a minimum of institutional loyalty and to complete the procedures for the approval of the urban figure ‘Regional Interest Act (AIR)’, currently in process, and detail what will be its management procedure, “said Vélez at the end of the meeting.
The Government delegate added that the development of the Cartagena ZAL requires coordination, will and institutional loyalty, and for this reason he trusts that with this “definitive impulse” to the sale of land by the Government of Spain, “the hostility will cease. , the victimhood, the changes of criteria and the breach of the commitments acquired from the rest of the administrations “.
“It is true that others rushed a few months ago to stage and claim the unblocking for the sale of these lands, but the reality is that only now, with their approval at the next Sepes Board of Directors, can we definitively guarantee, thanks to the impulse and to the commitment of the Government of Spain, that said operation is going to be a reality, “he concluded.
