The performances of the play “The Mother of the Dog” enter the last three days. The show completes its cycle on Friday 9, Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 February. The play staged by SYNTHESI, directed by Giorgos Nakos and adapted for the stage by Eleftherias Pantazis, was warmly received by the theater-loving public of Ioannina as it received many positive reviews and dozens of laudatory comments.
“The dog’s mother” is a journey through memory and modern Greek history. Through the eyes of Rubini Meskaris, a retired theater artist with the stage name Raraou, the audience travels to occupied and post-war Greece. From the fragmentary narratives of the central heroine, we also know the peripheral characters of Matesi’s book of the same name on which the stage adaptation of the play is based.
It is a unique performance where laughter alternates with emotion. Images from occupied Greece enliven the masterpiece text of Pavlos Matesi as a vehicle and guide the admittedly excellent interpretation of Eleftheria Pantazis. The performances take place in the lobby of the ERMIS hotel. The ticket costs €9.00 and the reduced ticket costs €7.00 (Unemployed, Disabled, Students, Over 65). A glass of wine is included in the ticket price. Due to the limited number of seats, reservations are required.
